Harriers snap up Atieno

Walsall striker Taiwo Atieno has joined Kidderminster Harriers on a long-term loan.

Walsall striker Taiwo Atieno has signed a long-term loan deal with Conference club Kidderminster Harriers.

The Bescot Stadium youngster joins the Aggborough outfit for a five-month loan spell, as Harriers boss Stuart Watkiss (pictured) boosts his attack for the new season.

Atieno has struggled to make an impact in Paul Merson's first team, having had loan spells last season with League Two sides Rochdale and Chester City.

"Everyone knows we needed to bring in another striker and I think Taiwo fits the bill perfectly," Watkiss told Kidderminster's official website.

"Hopefully, he can act as a battering ram of sorts for the team and help break down defences - he'll certainly be a handful and I'm glad we've got him on board."
