Walsall have extended the loan of goalkeeper Joe Murphy from Sunderland.
Walsall have extended the loan of goalkeeper Joe Murphy from Sunderland by a further two months.
Murphy joined The Saddlers on an initial one-month loan in October and manager Paul Merson has now invoked an option which allowed him to extend the temporary deal.
Having made four appearances so far this season for Walsall, Murphy will continue in goal for Tuesday's LDV Vans Trophy clash against Bournemouth.
Murphy only joined Sunderland last summer from West Bromwich Albion but quickly found himself out of favour at The Stadium of Light and will relish the opportunity of more first team football.
Sunderland have retained a 24-hour call back clause in the loan contract should the Wearsiders suffer a goalkeeping crisis.
