Walsall manager Dean Smith hailed Jon Macken after his goal in the Saddlers' 1-1 League One draw with Yeovil Town on Saturday.

Macken gave Walsall the lead with a superb swerving shot after 19 minutes. "It was a great finish after a good move and we work hard on attacking on the break," said Smith. He added: "I don't think we showed the fluidity that we had shown in previous games and some of the lads looked flat but it's been a tough three weeks with a lot of games in a short space of time. "I still felt we had enough to go on and win the game but the lads have given everything and that will continue. "Every game we play here we expect to try to get three points but to be fair Yeovil had some decent chances themselves. I feel we should have more points on the table to be honest with the performances we have had."
