Swindon Town have confirmed Luke Williams will remain the club’s manager until the end of the season.

Williams has been in caretaker control of the first team following Martin Ling's resignation as manager in December, overseeing victories against Southend United and Crewe Alexandra.

"After long conversations with Luke, I'm delighted to say that he has agreed to take the job until the end of the season," chairman Lee Power told the club's official website

"We will then sit down and discuss the possibility of him taking the job on a longer-term basis."

Williams joined Swindon in 2013 as first-team coach before working as an assistant to Mark Cooper, helping the club reach the League One play-off final last season.

Following the dismissal of Cooper, Williams worked as an assistant to caretaker manager-chairman Power before the appointment of Ling.
