Swindon defender Sean O'Hanlon is set to agree a new deal at The County Ground.
New Robins manager Dennis Wise is hoping to build a team capable of securing an immediate return to League One, and is approaching his role with relish.
Deputy chairman Mark Devlin confirmed that Wise was already close to resolving O'Hanlon's future.
"We are now very close to concluding a deal with Sean and I would imagine that to be done and dusted within 10-14 days, with Sean staying here at Swindon," Devlin told the club's official website.
"As far as speaking to members of the existing squad, Dennis has spoken to some of those players who are out of contract."
Devlin also revealed that Wise was looking to bring in new players, but would not rush into anything without due thought.
"Patience will be a virtue. Dennis wants to get in certain types of players that will help the club," he explained.
"We, as a club, are not in the business of throwing names out and creating false hype."
