Swindon Town midfielder Paul Evans will need an operation on his injured ankle.
Swindon Town will be without midfielder Paul Evans for up to six weeks after needing an operation on his injured ankle.
The former Shrewsbury Town trainee has missed eight games with The Robins after suffering the ankle injury at Macclesfield Town back in late December.
The 32-year-old will now go under the knife to treat the problem on Wednesday, and Robins boss Paul Sturrock is already lamenting Evans's loss.
"It is a massive blow to us because he will now not resume training for around five to six weeks," Sturrock told the club's official website.
"He is a big player for us and hopefully, we will see him back well before the end of the campaign."
Meanwhile, Sturrock has decided to offer new contracts to the injured pair of Andy Caton and Alex Rigley.
Youngsters Caton and Rigley are set to sign deals that will keep them at The County Ground until the end of 2007.
