Loan men provide Spireites lift

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan is delighted with the contribution of his new loan signings.

Sheridan brought in Nicky Ajose, James Hurst and Liam Ridehalgh in January and his side have only lost two games since the turn of the year. Their latest success saw them overcome giants Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend to leave them four points from safety. A penalty from Dean Morgan was enough to seal the win, but the spot-kick was won by Ajose. "We could have lost that game 2-0 or 3-0 a few weeks ago," Sheridan told the Derbyshire Times. "But new lads have come in on loan and they have given us a lift. They want to play football and they hit the ground running and our lads have responded. "In the last ten games we have improved and we have just got to carry on doing what we are doing."
