Swindon Town have completed the signing of Egyptian striker Mohammed El Gabas after a successful trial spell.

The forward has signed a deal until January 1, with a further option of 18 months. "It's a nice town, it's a family club where everyone knows each other," he told the club's official website. "I've heard about the club's history before I came. They're trying to get to the Championship - this is a good ambition and I hope I can help them." El Gabas began his career in Egypt with Port Said and spent a spell with Newcastle's academy before returning to Egypt after work permit problems. He then went on to spend four years with Lierse in Belgium before joining up with the League One side.
