The fixture between Bristol Rovers and Cheltenham in Sky Bet League Two was the first to go on Wednesday morning.
Staff at the Memorial Ground had declared the pitch playable on New Year's Eve but heavy rainfall saw the surface fail a 1000 GMT matchday inspection.
"Referee Iain Williamson inspected the pitch this morning, and decided that the match should not go ahead," read a statement on the club's official website.
"There were puddles of standing water on the surface, and with bad weather expected to continue all day, the match official took the decision to call the game off early."
The game at Northampton, who were due to host leaders Chesterfield, was also called off, as were the matches at Newport and Exeter.
Bad weather had already prompted one other New Year's Day postponement in the Football League, with stormy conditions causing floodlight damage at Leyton Orient, who were due to host Bristol City in League One. That game was called off on Tuesday.
New Year's Day games off:
Championship: Yeovil v Watford
League One: Leyton Orient v Bristol City, Stevenage v Gillingham, Swindon v Crawley.
League Two: Bristol Rovers v Cheltenham, Exeter v Wycombe, Newport v Oxford, Northampton v Chesterfield.
