Of the five players, Dons boss Terry Burton has told three of his veterans that he cannot afford to keep them at Selhurst Park, when their contracts run out at the end of the season.
Alan Kimble, Neal Ardley, and Dean Blackwell join goalkeeper Ian Feuer and Gareth Ainsworth on a list of 16 players who may depart the club by the end of the season.
The news has come as a major blow to the Kimble, who was in line for a testimonial next season with the club.
Kimble: "I felt sorry for manager Terry Burton, when he broke the news to me. I know his hands are tied over this.
"He made it clear he wanted to keep me, but the club's grim financial position made that impossible.
"I'm back to full fitness now after being out for four months with a knee injury and even though I'm 35, there are two or three good years left in me."
The Wimbledon veteran went on to add that a move will not bring a sudden end to his playing career.
"I'm looking forward to making a fresh start at another club and showing them what I can do. It's the end of era, but not of my career."
