MK Dons midfielder Aaron Wilbraham is putting an ankle operation on hold.
Milton Keynes Dons midfielder Aaron Wilbraham is putting an ankle operation on hold.
Wilbraham, who has been converted into a midfielder from a striker by Martin Allen this season, has been struggling with the injury of late.
The problem requires surgery to fix, but Allen admits an operation would rule the player out of the club's League Two promotion push.
Allen confirmed Wilbraham has had an injection on the injury and hopes he will be fit for Saturday's game against Bristol Rovers.
"Obviously I don't want Albie to have the operation now because it would put him out for the season," Allen told The Citizen.
"He's had an injection and he's resting it now. He'll come back into light training soon and then full training, and we'll see how it goes.
"But I'm hoping Albie and Lee Harper will be available for the weekend."
