Teenage keeper informed that he will not be offered new deal

Ipswich boss Paul Jewell has confirmed that the club will release Ian McLoughlin at the end of the season. The 19-year-old goalkeeper has failed to make a first-team appearance for Town and is currently taking in a loan spell at League Two strugglers Stockport. It has been decided that he will not be required at Portman Road next season, seeing him drop into the free agent pool this summer. Jewell has also revealed that youth team players Rory McKeown and Josh Meekings will not be offered new deals. He said: "It's the worst part of a manager's job, telling young players you won't be keeping them on. "But the challenge for those boys now is to go on and have a career in the game elsewhere. "We will do everything we can to help them achieve that and we wish them all the best."
