Striker hoping to finalise future

Former Barnet striker Izale McLeod has revealed that he is close to joining a new mystery club over the next week. The 27-year-old finished last season as the joint top scorer in League Two after netting 18 times for the struggling Bees. McLeod has been linked with several League One and League Two sides, including Portsmouth and Crawley, since his contract expired at Underhill and he told Sky Sports that he is looking forward to starting life at a new unnamed outfit shortly. "Hopefully, I'll be signing for a new club shortly because I've been in talks with one in particular for a while now and we are very close to completing things, which is great because pre-season will be starting next week. "I don't really want to say what club it is or what division they are in at the moment, but it is a club which match my ambitions for the upcoming season. "I'm an experienced player now that wants to win things and help a club achieve what they set out to do. "I'm confident in my ability to score goals at whatever level I'm playing at and I just can't wait to get pre-season training started and hit the ground running again. "There has been quite a bit of interest over the summer, but hopefully this one will be the one I sign for and it is just a case of dotting the i's and crossing the t's."
