Lincoln City have taken former Nottingham Forest scholar Tom Groves on trial.Lincoln City boss Keith Alexander has taken former Nottingham Forest scholar Tom Groves on trial.
The Imps chief is looking to bolster his squad for the second half of the season and will run the rule over Groves in a reserve team outing.
Groves, a 19-year-old former England youth international, made his bid for a permanent deal on Tuesday afternoon, when City's second string took on Halifax.
Meanwhile, influential defender Ben Futcher has revealed he is making good progress in his recovery from a fractured cheekbone.
Futcher is hoping to return in March after suffering what was a horrendous injury, sustained in a freak training ground collision with a team-mate.
"The main thing is that the surgery went well and everything's back where it should be,'' Futcher told the club's official website.
''I'll be forced to eat through a straw for a few days as I still can't chew properly but it won't be long before I'm back to full strength."
