Grandison exits Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury defender Jermaine Grandison has left the club after turning down the offer of a new contract.

The 22-year-old's rehabilitation from a hip injury will be helped by the Shrews but he will not play for Graham Turner's men again. "Unfortunately Jermaine, through his agent, turned down the offer that we had made him," Turner told the club's official website. "It looks as though he's going to be out for quite some time and we will be responsible for his medical well being, but unfortunately now as far as the relationship between Jermaine and the club, that's gone and Jermaine has departed. "His contract finished at the end of June and so that's it."
