Jackson critical of Town mentality

Shrewsbury boss Mike Jackson insists the mentality of his players must improve if they are to stay up.

Town remain in the relegation zone after a 2-1 defeat to fellow League One strugglers Tranmere at Prenton Park. Max Power nodded the hosts in front after 19 minutes but Paul Parry equalised for the Shrews midway through the second half, before Junior Brown settled matters in Rovers' favour late on. "We worked hard to get back into the game but to give away a gift like we have is criminal," said Jackson. "It is disappointing but it is simply a question of mentality. Mentality is something you build over time but time is what we don't have at the moment. "The late goal has knocked the stuffing out of us a bit but we have got to bounce back quickly. "We have to go out kicking and screaming. We just need a couple of little breaks to go our way. "I fancied us to go on and win it after we equalised. We were determined but then we took a step back and we just can't afford to do that. "But I am seeing people working hard in training and I hope the fans could see our determination on the pitch but now we have to go again."
