Stockport County have rewarded defender Keith Briggs with a permanent contract.Stockport County have rewarded defender Keith Briggs with a permanent contract.
Briggs returned to Edgeley Park earlier this month on a non-contract basis and he has made two appearances for League One's bottom club.
The 23-year-old arrived at the club with the promise of a more permanent arrangement if he impressed manager Chris Turner.
His goal in last Saturday's 2-2 draw with Barnsley pressed his claims for a new deal and Turner has confirmed Briggs will pen fresh terms.
"We have agreed a contract with Briggs and he should be signing next week," said Turner.
Briggs started his career with The Hatters before leaving for Norwich City two years ago.
After a loan spell at Crewe Alexandra at the start of the season, the full back was released by The Canaries in the autumn.
He has now resurrected his career with his first club and, buoyed by his new deal, will aim to keep Stockport in League One.
