Stockport County have moved to tie up three key players to new contracts at Edgeley Park.
Negotiations to keep defender Ashley Williams, midfielder Jason Taylor and striker Tes Bramble are already underway.
But Hatters boss Jim Gannon has conceded the talks will not be concluded until after the festive period.
"We've got 12 players and two youngsters signed up for next season and we're hoping to get something done [with Williams, Taylor and Bramble] in the new year," Gannon commented.
The League Two side are also awaiting a response over the fate of Yeovil Town man David Poole.
Poole returned to The Glovers after impressing, while on loan in the North West and Gannon admits he would like to bring the player back on a permanent basis.
"There's no rush with that because he couldn't play for us again this year anyway, but it would be nice for the player to have his future sorted out," Gannon added.
County take on high flyers Wycombe Wanderers in their next league encounter away on Saturday.
