The 25-year-old former Rochdale hit-man revealed earlier this week that he has decided to opt for a move to the Second Division with Notts County, instead of a previously planned switch to The Memorial Ground.
Platt had verbally agreed a three-year contract with the West Country outfit last month but admitted to receiving an offer from The Magpies at the same time.
The striker intends to sign once the Meadow Lane club is out of administration next month and furious Rovers seem ready to launch a law-suit against the player, his agent and Notts County for compensation.
The Pirates are unlikely to get any backing from The Football League, as nothing was signing between the player and the club, but Rovers seem determined to pursue the issue as a matter of principle.
Ray Graydon's side became suspicious of Platt's intentions when he failed to show at a routine medical a fortnight ago.
