Robinson heads to Torquay as Turner makes further signings

Shrewsbury Town have signed Nicky Wroe from League Two rivals Torquay United as Jake Robinson heads in the opposite direction. Wroe links up with Shrewsbury for an undisclosed fee and the transfer was completed moments before Monday's deadline. The midfielder had been on the transfer list at Torquay since October and has now clinched a move to Graham Turner's Shrews. His arrival at the Greenhous Meadow led to Robinson's exit from the club as the striker joined Torquay on loan for the remainder of the season, while the Gulls also landed midfielder Craig Stanley on loan from Morecambe. Meanwhile, Shrewsbury also completed the loan signings of West Bromwich Albion defender Paul Downing and Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Lee Nicholls on deadline day. Turner told the club's official website of the Nicholls deal: "Hakan (Duyan) has moved onto Gaziantepspor and we wish him well in Turkey and thank him for his time at the club. "It meant I was on the look-out for a young keeper to add to the squad and Lee is one that fits the bill."
