With first choice shot-stopper Mark Tyler out injured, after breaking a bone in his forearm in a closed-doors friendly against Arsenal, Fry is keen to ensure the club have cover for Daniel Connor.
Tyler has been a virtual ever-present for The Posh this term, having made 18 out of 19 league starts, whilst Connor had made just the one in the club's recent defeat to Barnsley.
Harrison will join the team prior to the club's clash against Cheltenham Town, and will be available for selection when the team plays three games in the space of seven days over Christmas.
Meanwhile, struggling United appear to have failed in their bid to land Mark Arber, also from Barnet.
Fry reportedly offered the Bees defender a two-and-a-half-year deal, however problems have arisen over who should pay the stopper's loyalty payment.
Barnet's chairman Tony Kleanthous has stated that Arber can talk to The Posh if they cover the loyalty payment, whilst he only wants to join the club until the end of the season.
