Peterborough United striker Simon Yeo is set to have an operation to treat a fractured cheekbone.
The former Lincoln City hit-man needed to be stretchered off midway through the second half of Sunday's 1-0 home defeat to Bury.
Yeo collided with Bury's on-loan goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and suffered the facial injury as a result.
He will go under the knife on Wednesday to treat the broken cheekbone and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Guy Branston is also set for time on the sidelines after breaking his nose.
Meanwhile, Posh goalkeeper Luke McShane has joined Conference North side Kettering Town on a month's loan.
