Futcher seals Shakers deal

Ben Futcher has signed a deal with Bury after leaving Peterborough United.

Ben Futcher has signed a deal with Bury after leaving Peterborough United.

The defender had the final 12 months of his Peterborough contract cancelled on Thursday by mutual consent.

He has been quick to secure a new club after accepting an offer to link up with his former Lincoln City manager Keith Alexander at Gigg Lane.

Alexander is now director of football at Bury and earlier this week brought another ex-Lincoln defender - Paul Morgan - to the club.

Futcher has agreed a deal with the Shakers after also attracting interest from League Two rivals Mansfield Town.

The 26-year-old only joined Peterborough from Grimsby Town last summer and made 30 appearances during his time at London Road.
