Accrington boss John Coleman is among the nominees for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award for September.

Coleman oversaw a creditable draw at Portsmouth, which was followed by four straight victories as Stanley climbed into the play-off places.

Also in the running are Carlisle manager Keith Curle, Notts County boss Ricardo Muniz and Luton's John Still.

Carlisle flirted with relegation last season but have impressed this term, with free-scoring United scoring nine goals on their way to picking up 10 points from five league matches.

Dutchman Muniz promised to bring attacking flair to Meadow Lane and that was fulfilled with 10 goals in five September games which yielded 10 points and a rise up the table. Particularly impressive was the thrilling 4-1 win over Crawley.

Elsewhere, Luton manager Still showed his experience by keeping calm after the Hatters collected just two points in August.

His belief in his players didn't waver as he guided them to four victories in five outings, ending the month by beating Mansfield, AFC Wimbledon and Morecambe.

Accrington could secure a September double, with midfielder Matt Crooks in the running for Player of the Month.

Converted from a forward without a league goal to a deep-lying midfielder, Crooks scored with two long-range efforts against Crawley and Yeovil.

Barnet striker Michael Gash has also been nominated after he netted four times in five games.

Two defenders are also recognised, with on-loan Wycombe full-back Michael Harriman and Mansfield centre-back Krystian Pearce nominated.

Harriman has dropped back from right wing to right-back but has still managed to power forward and deliver some dangerous crosses, while his three goals in the month included a 25-yard winner against Cambridge.
