MLS side Real Salt Lake have obtained the rights to striker Adolfo Gregorio.Major League Soccer outfit Real Salt Lake have acquired the rights to former Darlington striker Adolfo Gregorio.
The 22-year-old was one of 10 players to be released by the League Two club at the season's end, though Quakers boss David Hodgson was keen to re-sign him for the following campaign.
Real Salt Lake obtained Gregorio's MLS rights in a deal with Colorado Rapids, who received a Permanent Youth International slot in return after initially drafting Gregorio in last year's MLS SuperDraft.
Should the Utah-based club sign Gregorio before the end of the year, Colorado will also receive Real's first round pick in the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft.
Meanwhile, former Darlington goalkeeper David Preece expects to sort out his future in the next couple of weeks after speaking with Hodgson about a proposed return to the club.
The former Sunderland custodian was transfer listed last month by Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen - the club he was sold to by Hodgson back in 1999.
