Darlington have completed the signing of Hereford United midfielder Rob Purdie.
Darlington have completed the signing of Hereford United's Rob Purdie.
The midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with the Quakers after deciding not to accept a new contract at Hereford.
United manager Graham Turner had previously revealed the 24-year-old had been offered new terms at Edgar Street, but Purdie has instead opted for the Bulls' League Two rivals Darlington.
Purdie, who will join his new team-mates on 1st July, becomes Darlington's seventh summer signing following the additions of John Brackstone, Stephen Foster, Andy Oakes, Alan White, Scott Wiseman and Kevin McBride.
Quakers manager Dave Penney is delighted to have secured the versatile Purdie as the club continue to build for the new season.
"Rob is exactly the sort of player we are looking for to take this football club forward," said Penney.
"Although he is a midfielder he can play virtually anywhere on the pitch.
"The squad is starting to come together and I expect the new faces to make a real impact.
"We have got some quality in the squad now and I certainly don't rule out there being more additions before the start of the season."
