Wilson aiming high

Kelvin Wilson is flattered by reports linking him with a move to a higher league.

Notts County defender Kelvin Wilson is flattered by reports linking him with a move to a higher league.

The 19-year-old was named the club's Players' Player of the Year following a superb campaign in which he made over 40 senior appearances.

Wilson is looking forward to working under new manager Gudjon Thordarson next term, who replaced player-manager Ian Richardson earlier this month.

"It is flattering each week when you are linked with moves to teams in a higher division," explained Wilson to the club's official website.

"My dream is to play in a higher division, no offence to Notts County, but it is an ambition. I am linked away every week; we'll see what happens though.

"Hopefully with Gudjon at the helm next year we can iron out the inconsistency in the side and move on next season and perhaps move up a division.

"Richo and John Gaunt did well and I enjoyed playing under them, and we'll see what the new man can do now."
