Scoffham out two months

Notts County have lost striker Steve Scoffham with a fractured cheekbone.

Notts County have lost the services of striker Steve Scoffham for up to two months with a fractured cheekbone.

Scoffham sustained the injury in the early stages of Saturday's 2-0 FA Cup success at League One strugglers Bristol City after colliding with Robins defender Louis Carey.

The injury is the latest setback for the hit-man, who missed much of last season after breaking his leg on two occasions.

"It happened so quickly," Scoffham told the club's official website.

"One minute, I was fine and then the next, I turned and banged into their player's shoulder.

"The pain was awful and it still kills me now. I'd rather have broken my leg again than go through that pain, it was awful.

"It was an accidental clash, but it makes you wonder where the luck is in this game.

"I've broken my leg twice, missed a lot of matches with injury, been suspended once and now this, it is just so frustrating."
