Notts County's Kelvin Wilson has delayed contract talks so he can focus on his football.Notts County's rising talent Kelvin Wilson has revealed he has delayed contract talks until the summer so he can focus on his football.
The 20-year-old is being tipped for a big future in football and The Magpies are keen to secure him on a fresh long-term contract.
Wilson has just five months remaining on his present deal with the Meadow Lane outfit and is in no rush to decide his future or think about where he might be playing next term.
"I just want to concentrate on my football," Wilson told skysports.com.
"My contract is till June, so I'd rather just concentrate on my football and then see what happens at the end of the season.
"I'm not really thinking about where I want to go or where I'll be next season. I just want to carry on with the season."
Jermaine Pennant left Notts County at a young age and struggled to command instant first-team football, but Wilson believes with nearly 100 games under his belt he has the experience to play at a higher level.
"It could be a strong case that if you go too early you're not going to play, but I've played 83 games, it'll be 84 on Saturday, and I've got a little bit more experience than the lads that have gone earlier than me," he concluded.
