Steve Thompson has set his sights on adding Myles Weston to his squad.
Notts County boss Steve Thompson has admitted he may not have come to the end of his summer spending, after setting his sights on Myles Weston.
Weston is available on a free transfer following his release from Charlton, and after impressing in a loan spell at Meadow Lane last season, The Magpies' boss is targeting a return swoop for the England youth international.
Weston has already undergone talks with the League Two outfit, but Thompson has now firmly set his sights on the player.
One potential stumbling block is finance, as Thompson admitted he may well have spent all the money at his disposal after making six additions to his squad in the close-season.
"You'll have the board in fits talking about more arrivals!" he told the club's official website.
"We're still pursuing Myles Weston, although the budget is nearly gone or as the board will tell you, it is all gone.
"If Myles came and gave us an inclination he was going to sign I would go crawling to the chairman to allow us to sign Myles.
"He comes into the category of being a very quick player who is young, promising and he has the right upbringing from Charlton."
Departures may be on the cards for members of the County squad in order to fund such a move, but Thompson is keen to hang on to players as he looks to build for next season.
"Obviously any more coming in depends on others going out," he continued.
"Every football player has his price and in theory everyone is for sale; that is not saying we want to sell anyone because we want to build a squad.
"But, who knows what the summer will bring because all sorts of moves come out of the woodwork."
