Robins winger urges team to pull together

Bristol City winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce has admitted his team must bed in quickly if they are to kick-start their season. In what has been a difficult time for the Robins so far this campaign, their 3-1 defeat to Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Tuesday has left them second from bottom in the table and with one point from their last four games. City were expected to launch a decent fight for promotion this season following the arrival of England goalkeeper David James from Pompey and with Steve Coppell at the helm. However, Coppell's shock departure just days into the season has left the club floundering at the foot of the table and Campbell-Ryce insisted they had to come good fast. "Obviously the start to the season has been hugely disappointing, especially with the quality players we have here at our disposal," he told skysports.com.

Time

"It does take time for the players to bed in, and given that we signed quite a few, it's only natural to think there is still some way to go. But we need to get on with it. "The time comes when you have to stop saying what you might have done and start doing what is required of you. You have to start putting points on the board and climbing away from the bottom. "The only ironic thing is that the performance against Portsmouth was probably one of our better ones this season, but we need to be taking points from these displays. "We're not helping ourselves with our form, but we know that if we all stick together we will be OK. "But we can't expect it to happen, we have to work hard for it."
