The Dutchman had to be taken to hospital for stitches to a badly gashed leg during the goalless draw at Sheffield Wednesday.
Cas was stretchered off the pitch at Hillsborough and was told to rest the injury for at least two weeks.
Cas had looked the main dangerman for Grimsby during the game against The Owls before he had to leave the pitch injured.
Mariners assistant boss Graham Rodger says that Cas is already keen to get back into action but needs rest to recover.
"That's the kind of person he is," said Rodger.
"He wants to be playing again but he needs to rest."
