Chester City have added two players to their squad for next season.Chester City have added two players to their squad for next season but have missed out on Mansfield Town defender David Artell.
Blues boss Keith Curle has brought in Justin Walker and Craig Dove on free transfers but has been snubbed by his old club in his pursuit of Artell.
Walker has joined Chester after being released by relegated Cambridge United, while Dove has signed on after being let go by Rushden & Diamonds.
Curle was buoyed by his two arrivals and feels the midfield pair will inject quality into his squad for the next League Two campaign.
"Both players will add a mixture of experience and a vast knowledge of this level of football to our squad and they will give us extra options," said Curle.
"Craig can play on the left or right, whilst Justin is a cultured central midfielder."
The Chester chief is also close to finalising deals for Abdou El Kholti and Luke Dimech, who have been axed by Cambridge and Mansfield respectively.
But Curle's bid to entice Artell to the club looks doomed to failure after Mansfield rejected a second offer from Chester for the centre half.
