Youngster Giles Coke is expected to sign for Mansfield.
Mansfield Town new-boy Giles Coke is on the verge of signing a professional contract with the Field Mill club.
Town manager Carlton Palmer has been increasingly impressed by the midfielder, who arrived on trial from Kingstonian.
Coke's performance whilst on trial forced Palmer to throw him straight into action at Bristol Rovers, where the midfielder managed to further impress his new boss in the 4-4 draw.
Palmer told the Mansfield website: "Giles is strong and held the ball up well, he has shown great character and self belief and as a hungry player he is just the kind of player that I want to bring to the club.
"I can imagine how good he will be after finishing this season and getting a full pre-season under his belt."
The 18-year-old Coke is expected to sign his first professional contract with The Stags shortly.
