Bury look set to be without Allan Smart in the coming weeks.
Bury striker Allan Smart is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury against Rushden & Diamonds on Friday.
The former Watford marksman, who was stretchered off during the League Two encounter, will miss the next six weeks with a knee problem.
Smart experienced a lack of mobility in his knee after the game and the likely diagnoses would appear to be either medial ligament problems or medial cartilage damage.
If either scenario proves to be the case, The Shakers would be likely to lose the experienced Scot for a number of weeks. However, there is also a possibility that the scans may reveal little more than bruising to the joint.
With Bury currently languishing just three points from the foot of the table, the Gigg Lane faithful will be keeping their fingers crossed when the full extent of the injury is revealed on Tuesday.
