Adam El-Abd has warned his Brighton team-mates that one bad result could see them dumped out of the race for the play-offs.

Goal difference seperates four clubs chasing three play-off places

Adam El-Abd has warned his Brighton team-mates that one bad result could see them dumped out of the race for the play-offs. The Seagulls are on course to make it into the end of season promotion knock-out phase sitting in sixth spot level on points but behind Birmingham and Blackpool while Middlesbrough sit below them on goal difference. With only six games remaining, though, a poor run of results could decide which one of the four will not be invited to the play-off party. "It is great to be a part of the top six and that shows how far the club has come throughout the two years that Gus Poyet has been here," said the 27-year-old defender. "We fancy ourselves for the play-offs because we are right in the mix but I am sure that all of the other teams fancy themselves too. "It is so tight and every point is going to be hard fought for at this stage of the season, but we are prepared for the challenge. "We have six cup finals now and every one of them is just as important as the other. Burnley is coming up on Friday and we need to improve our form away from home to pick up some points on the road if we are going to stay in that play-off pack."
