Morecambe have confirmed the signing of versatile left-sided player Laurence Wilson from Blue Square Premier outfit Chester.
Wilson, who can operate in midfield or defence, has signed a two-year deal with the Shrimps after successfully completing his medical earlier in the day.
The former Everton and England Under-19 international made over 100 appearances for Chester over the past two seasons.
He caught the eye of Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy last season despite Chester's eventual relegation and is expected to feature in Tuesday night's friendly with Burnley.
McIlroy told the club's official website: "He is a player who will add strength to our squad.
"He impressed me last season and I know the supporters rate him as well."
