Padraig Amond is astonished by the efforts of team-mate Amine Linganzi in attempting to secure Accrington's League Two status.
Former Blackburn midfielder Linganzi has been a star performer since joining Stanley in February, including excellent displays in the Easter fixtures despite learning of his brother's death back in France. The 23-year-old eventually took compassionate leave and sat out the 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers York but he was back in the fray to complete 90 minutes in the Reds' 2-0 derby triumph over Morecambe last time out. "He's been unbelievable since he's come in," Accrington striker Amond said. "We had Wycombe on Good Friday and on the Thursday night at about 10 o'clock he got word of his brother dying. "To come out the next day and play the way he did - he played because he didn't want to let the lads down. "To do something like that made us want to go that extra yard for him. The manager said just before we left the dressing room, 'when you're going for the ball today just think how much Amine is putting in considering the tragedy that's happened to him'. "He's been fantastic in every game since and every game before that. He's probably been one of the big changing points in the season."
