Boston United battled back from two goals down for a 2-2 draw at Macclesfield Town.

Boston United are still awaiting their first win of the season after battling back for a 2-2 draw at Macclesfield Town.

The Silkmen appeared poised to claim all three points when they led 2-0 at half time but Boston rallied in the second period to snatch a draw at Moss Rose.

The hosts forged ahead on 21 minutes when John Miles' cross from the flank was headed in by Kevin McIntyre.

On 32 minutes, the lead was extended for Macclesfield when Boston defender Ben Futcher headed into his own net.

Boston made a double substitution at the break and it had an immediate impact as Julian Joachim teed up Bradley Maylett to score on 48 minutes.

The equaliser arrived 15 minutes from time when another substitute - Noel Whelan - hammered a shot into the top corner.
