Buckle impressed by loanees

Torquay boss Paul Buckle praised his loan signings following their contribution to the 1-1 draw with Gillingham.

QPR duo Romone Rose and Joe Oastler both started the game, while Ashley Hemmings got 35 minutes of action on his debut following his arrival from Wolves, and Buckle was pleased with what he saw. He told the Herald Express: "I thought our loan signings did well. "I thought Oastler and (Lee) Mansell did great in the middle and Romone Rose looked a real threat up front. "It's quite tough to come down from the Premier League, and when Ashley Hemmings went on and dwelled on the ball a couple of times in our 18-yard box, it got me off my seat. "But once he got faced up, even against a quick defender like (Barry) Fuller, he looked good. We have tried to add pace to the squad."
