Injection to help Hawley return

Scunthorpe striker Karl Hawley has had an injection in his ankle in a bid to speed up his return to footballing action.

Hawley, signed as a free agent on a short-term contract until January following his release from Notts County in the summer, has missed the last two matches after twisting his ankle in the recent home defeat to Tranmere and has had a sugar injection to help the healing process. The 30-year-old had hoped to be back in the side for last weekend's home draw with Brentford, but although he has not been ruled out of Saturday's game at Swindon, he missed a behind-closed-doors friendly this week. Meanwhile, Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill is expecting midfielder Damien Mozika to return to contention within the next few weeks. Mozika, yet to appear for the Iron this season due to an ankle injury, has suffered no reaction after returning to full training on Monday with Knill's first-team squad.
