A round-up of all Saturday's action from the Scottish Premiership.

Ryan Christie allowed his parent club Celtic to move a point closer to the top of the Scottish Premiership as he scored the winning goal for Inverness against leaders Aberdeen.

The Scotland U21 international - signed by Ronny Deila then loaned back to the Highland side last month - put the home team 2-0 up after Miles Storey's opener.

Although Ash Taylor pulled one back, Aberdeen could not find a leveller and that means their 100 per cent record has gone following eight league wins in succession previously.

They will return along the A96 to the Granite City relatively unscathed, however, given Celtic failed to take full advantage and only drew 0-0 at home to Hearts.

The gap between the two is therefore now four points when it had been five and could so easily have become two.

Christie blotted his copybook towards the end of an entertaining game, though, as he was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Peter Pawlett and David Goodwillie both had good opportunities to equalise for Derek McInnes' team but neither could manage it.

That means Aberdeen have now lost twice in four days following their 2-0 League Cup exit to Championship side Hibernian on Wednesday.

Motherwell began life without their former manager Ian Baraclough with a win as caretaker boss Stephen Craigan led them to a 2-1 victory against his old side Partick Thistle.

Baraclough was relieved of his duties after a midweek defeat to Morton in the League Cup and U20 coach Craigan saw the squad he left behind react positively.

A Frederic Frans own goal put them ahead before the break when the defender turned in Lionel Ainsworth's cross.

Striker Scott McDonald then doubled the lead as Tomas Cerny saved his header initially before he volleyed the rebound in.

David Amoo became only the second Partick player to score this season when he ended their run of minutes without a goal at the 540 mark in the closing stages.

They could not muster another, though, and the Glasgow side remain bottom of the table, with Motherwell moving up a place to ninth.

They leapt over Kilmarnock, who led at half-time against Hamilton then capitulated after the restart to lose 2-1 instead.

Greg Kiltie put the Ayrshire team in front as he slid in beyond goalkeeper Michael McGovern after he was set up by Kallum Higginbotham.

But Dougie Imrie levelled with his second goal in as many games as his fiercely-struck effort flashed in off the underside of the crossbar.

Ali Crawford then turned the match on its head when he converted Greg Docherty's cross to continue his strong start to the campaign.

Kilmarnock's misery was compounded when Lee Ashcroft was sent off moments from the end for denying a goalscoring opportunity to leave Rugby Park boss Gary Locke under pressure.

One manager no longer under pressure is Jackie McNamara after he was sacked by Dundee United following their 2-1 defeat at St Johnstone.

McNamara saw his team sacrifice a lead against 10-man Saints to leave them on a run of just five wins in 28 games dating back to mid-February.

It had started so well for them at McDiarmid Park when 'keeper Alan Mannus was dismissed for taking out Billy McKay and he scored the resulting penalty to hand United the initiative.

St Johnstone were resilient in the second period, however, and Graham Cummins' powerful header from Liam Craig's corner restored parity.

Substitute Simon Lappin - a scorer in their League Cup win at Rangers - came off the bench to net again and win it for the Perth team, who are now a point from the top half of the table.

Directly above them are Dundee, who twice came from behind to secure a 3-3 draw in the highest-scoring game of the Premiership against Ross County.

The Highland side went ahead first when Liam Boyce struck on the break but Greg Stewart levelled a minute later.

James McPake put an innocuous cross past his own 'keeper Scott Bain to put County back in front and Michael Gardyne made it 3-1 as his header arced in.

Dundee, to their credit, executed a second-half comeback well and there was a distinct turning point when away defender Andrew Davies was sent off for a second booking in the 53rd mibute.

The penalty he gave away in the process was converted by Rory Loy, who then got his second of the game and a point for Paul Hartley's team when he put in Paul McGinn's pass.
