Rangers have had two bids rejected for St Johnstone's Michael O'Halloran.
Rangers manager Mark Warburton has identified the 25-year-old forward as a January transfer target, but Sky Sports News understand St Johnstone are reluctant to sell O'Halloran and have turned down two offers from the Scottish Championship leaders.
O'Halloran scored for St Johnstone in a 3-1 victory over Rangers in the Scottish League Cup last September.
He joined St Johnstone from Bolton Wanderers in January 2014 and has 18 months left to run on his current contract at McDiarmid Park.
O'Halloran has scored 16 goals in 83 appearances for the Scottish Premiership side. O'Halloran previously spent time on loan at Sheffield United, Carlisle United and Tranmere Rovers.
Rangers have already signed Harry Forrester, Maciej Gostomski and extended the loan of Arsenal midfielder Gedion Zelalem until the end of the season.
Josh Windass and Matt Crooks have also agreed to leave Accrington for Rangers in the summer, having signed pre-contract agreements over moves to Ibrox.
