Paul Hartley has been named the Scottish Premiership manager of the month for February after leading Dundee to a four-match unbeaten run.

Dundee began the month with two draws against Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Kilmarnock before claiming their first victory over Rangers since March 2001.

They ended the month with a thumping 5-1 win away at Motherwell, which briefly lifted them into the top six.

"We had a decent February, we've not had a good start to March, but February was good," Hartley told Sky Sports News HQ.

"We've still got 10 games to go and it's important we pick up as many points as we can. One thing I would say about my players is that their attitude is first class day in day out in training.

"We want to try and get into the top six, we've got five games to try and get in there, but we've got to look over our shoulders a bit as there's not much between sixth and 12th.

"It's important we pick up as many points as we can in order to stay away from the bottom end of the table. We're three points off sixth and we've got to have a good run from now until the split."
