Striker hoping to secure new deal

Motherwell striker Ross McCormack hopes to extend his stay at Fir Park. The 21-year-old former Rangers player comes to the end of his two-year contract this summer and Motherwell are keen for him to agree an extension. McCormack has impressed this season, scoring eight goals in 22 appearances for Motherwell in the current campaign. Talks could soon resume with McCormack over a new deal. The death of club captain Phil O'Donnell meant all such activity was put on hold recently. "There's not been progress and rightly so because everyone's minds were elsewhere," McCormack told the club's official website.

Offers

"We're just waiting to confirm offers though and I've always said that I would benefit a lot from another season or two at Motherwell to progress my game and develop as a footballer. "That is still the case so we just need to get the right deal sorted out."
