Roma midfielder may remain in Italy

Celtic's hopes of securing the services of Roma midfielder Matteo Brighi look to have suffered a blow. Brighi's agent Vanni Puzzolo claims he has spoken with the SPL giants and three Serie A clubs over a deal for his client, who has been told he can leave Stadio Olimpico. But Puzzolo feels Brighi would be too far out of the spotlight in Scotland and has hinted that remaining in Italy would be better for the 27-year-old. "After we received the OK from Roma, I have been contacted by Sampdoria, Bologna, Reggina and Celtic," said Puzzolo. "The economic aspects of the move to Scotland are good, but Matteo is still young and to go to Celtic could mean he loses the profile that he would continue to have in Italy."
