Boro youngster opts for SPL switch

Kilmarnock have won the race to sign Middlesbrough youngster Graeme Owens, skysports.com understands. The 21-year-old was out of contract at the Riverside this summer and he opted to leave in search of first-team football. Having spent a successful spell at Blackpool last season a number of Championship clubs showed an interest in the winger. However, SPL outfit Kilmarnock have persuaded him to move north of the border. Owens has agreed a two-year deal with an option for a third after he impressed Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies in training.
