Rangers defender Steven Whittaker has vowed to chip in with more goals next term as the club look to win back-to-back titles for the first time since 2000.
The target seems unusual coming from a defender, especially one who averaged less than one goal a season during his six years at Hibernian.
However the 25-year-old has already surpassed that amount in his two seasons at Ibrox and the full-back is determined to get more.
The Scot hit the back of the net fives times in his debut season with the Gers, including his outstanding solo effort against Sporting Lisbon in the Uefa Cup quarter-final, and he is keen to beat last term's tally of three next time out.
"I was delighted with my first season, I think I got five goals," he said.
"In my previous seasons at Hibs, I'd only scored one or two goals each season.
"So to come here and get five in my first season, I was delighted with that. I've managed to chip in with a few last season as well so hopefully that can continue."
More advanced role
Whittaker has proved himself to be a versatile performer since joining Rangers in summer 2007 and he admits that playing further forward earlier on in his career has helped him in front of goal.
"I used to play a lot further forward in right midfield or centre midfield in the youth team," he added.
"As I progressed into the first-team, I found myself at full-back or right midfield and sometimes used on the let, as I have been here.
"I found myself more of a defender when I broke through."
