Hearts have confirmed that Slovakian goalkeeper Marian Kello does not need an operation on his injured wrist.
Kello, who is on loan from Hearts' sister club FBK Kaunas until 2011, picked up the injury in training last month.
It was feared he would need surgery, but Hearts boss Jim Jefferies has confirmed the 27-year-old will not need to go under the knife.
"Marian will not have to have an operation," Jefferies told the club's official website.
"He had the cast taken off on Friday and the doctors have had a look at him again.
"He will need two to three weeks strengthening so that rules him out of playing again this season but it's good news that he won't have to have surgery.
"He can now concentrate on building his wrist up and making sure he is 100 per cent fit."
With Janos Balogh also sidelined, Jamie McDonald will continue in their absence.
"I have no complaints about Jamie," Jefferies added.
"He has come in and done a good job for the team and his performances have shown that this is an area where we are quite strong."
