Rangers youngster Kyle Hutton has labelled his UEFA Champions League start against Manchester United a 'dream come true'.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who is yet to start an SPL match, found out he would be facing the Red Devils at Ibrox just hours before the big Group C kick-off.
The teenager came up against experienced campaigners Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick and he has conceded before the match that he was nervous.
Although the result did not go as hoped as Rangers suffered a late 1-0 defeat, Hutton was delighted to play and believes he will benefit in the long term from the experience.
"It was absolutely fantastic, a dream come true. To come up against Manchester United in the Champions League, it doesn't get any bigger than that," he told the club's official website.
"Obviously I was really surprised when I was told I would be starting this afternoon but I just tried to get my head around it quickly and get on with it.
"There were a few butterflies in the build up to the game, I think that's only natural, and in the first 10 minutes you are always going to be a wee bit shaky. But once I settled in to the match I thought I did OK.
"The manager said to me before the game just to try and get a few early touches on the ball and I tried to do that and keep things simple.
"From there I just worked as hard as I could and in the second-half I did my best to get forward a bit more. But overall it was a great game to play in and to come up against Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes was a terrific experience.
"I just hope I can keep going in the right direction now and that I can continue to play a part in the first-team games that are coming up."
